Why Wesley?: Grace Crowcroft

When I arrived at college, I knew I wanted to get involved in a local church so I went to Wesley my first week on campus.  It was right down the street from my dorm and it was the church my dad went to when students at the U of I. As the year went on, I was able to get plugged in, especially through one me and I always had a place to sit on Sunday mornings.

Another reason I continue to attend Wesley is because it’s challenging. After only a short period of time, I realized how dedicated Wesley is to being social justice warriors. At Wesley, there are always people up for having a discussion about injustices like racism and poverty, and our role as Christians in working for justice.  I’ve learned more of what’s going on in our world at Wesley, and what our job as Christians can be. Wesley has challenged me think more critically and that we can do more and say more for people who might not have such privilege. For this awareness and clearer understanding, I am thankful for Wesley.
