Dan King Crede

Senior Pastor & Foundation Executive Director

Pastor Dan is a native of Illinois. He was born in Illinois, lived in small towns around Illinois as a preacher’s kid, and attended undergraduate at Illinois Wesleyan University. He ventured to New England with his wife, Gay, for graduate school at Boston University School of Theology and School of Fine Arts, where he completed both a Master of Divinity and a Master of Sacred Music in 1983. He and Gay returned to Illinois and served as co-pastors for many years, enjoying the blending of both music and theology. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. In his downtime, he plays the organ, hikes, bikes, fishes, kayaks, and cooks. He loves to travel and last year got to play an organ in Germany from J.S. Bach’s day.

He served for seven years as Associate Pastor and Organist at Wesley before becoming Senior Pastor and Director of the Wesley Foundation in 2011.

“It is my privilege to work with a great team of people who are all dedicated to helping others expand their faith and develop their passion for serving God in a wide variety of ways,” he says. “I enjoy helping create worship that is uplifting, creative and inspiring.  I am committed to ministries that break down barriers, feed the hungry and build a better world.  While I oversee the many wonderful ministries of Wesley, I am always glad to talk with you about your faith journey and how Wesley can be your home while you are living in this community or studying on campus.”
